Catalog Course Description
The objective of this course is to give students an appreciation of how living beings work at the macroscopic level and how they are evolutionarily related. The topics of the course will include development, evolutionary processes, diversity of life, plant and animal systems, animal behavior, and ecosystems.
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: Identify the evolutionary relationships between different life forms on Earth.
2. Describe the physiological basis of life in different life forms.
Course Objective
This course is designed for all students interested in following up on NS201 (prerequisite !)
We will explore different domains of life on Earth, ranging from bacteria (prokaryotes) to single cellular eukaryotes, from fungi to animals.
A basic level understanding of biology, molecular biology and chemistry is a highly suggested.
