Course Information

Catalog Course Description
This course is about the application or processing of visual information in a way that entails the design and analysis of algorithms incorporating concepts studied in the field of control, namely feedback, estimation, and dynamics. It covers Image Formation Basics, Image Features and Correspondence, Recursive Estimation from Image Sequences, Image-Based and Position-Based Visual Servoing, Extending Visual Servoing Techniques to Nonholonomic Mobile Robots, Vision-Based System Identification and State Estimation.
Learning Outcomes:
1. After taking this course, a successful graduate student will be able to use vision in robotic systems. In particular, students should be able to: 1. Identify various visual servoing approaches, 2. Estimate image jacobian 3. Design image based visual controllers 4. Design position based visual controllers 5. Design hybrid visual controllers
Course Objective
