Course Information

Catalog Course Description
This course starts with the building blocks of mixed-signal integrated circuits, mostly data converters and frequency synthesizers: comparators, sampling circuits, amplifiers, controlled oscillators, charge pumps, phase- frequency detectors, etc. Then, it continues with an overview of analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and phase-locked loops (PLLs). Students will learn about several ADC and PLL topologies, the use of mixed-signal integrated circuits in different applications. Students will also design an ADC or PLL as a course project.
Course Learning Outcomes:
Course Objective
Students who take this course will use their knowledge gained in Analog and Digital Integrated Circuits, and will advance their knowledge on these topics, will learn to design more complex topologies of these blocks, and combine them to design mixed signal integrated circuits such as ADCs and PLLs.
